SS George Lombard Jr.1-for-5, 2B (2), CS (2), 2 K
Lombard Jr. didn’t earn his first Triple-A extra base hit until his 17th game. He earned a second one in his 18th game. He is hitting .188/.371/.217 in 89 plate appearances since his promotion. He has a 20.2% BB and 16.9% K.
RF Yanquiel Fernandez1-for-5, 2 K
Fernandez has an 11-game on-base streak.
2B Marco Luciano0-for-3, BB
LF Oswaldo Cabrera0-for-3, BB

Brown has homered in back-to-back games (four HR in his last seven games)
DH Ali Sanchez2-for-3, HBP
C Payton Henry0-for-2, 2 BB
In the battle for the “next catcher up,” Sanchez is hitting .267/.371/.433 in 105 PA while Henry is hitting .259/.370/.447 in 100 PA. As stated many times, neither has hit when given an MLB chance.
3B Jonathan Ornelas: 0-for-4
CF Kenedy Corona1-for-4, K

RHP Adam Kloffenstein (L, 1-2): 4 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 6 BB, 1 K, HR
The goal is to throw the ball in the strike zone.
RHP Danny Watson1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K
3.38 ERA (21.1 IP, 17 H, 13 R, 8 ER, 2 HR, 7 BB, 25 K)
RHP Carson Coleman1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
4.00 ERA (18 IP, 13 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 0 HR, 10 BB, 19 K)
RHP Harrison Cohen1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 2 HR
“How to raise your ERA from 6.00 to 9.00 in ten minutes.”

Somerset (19-22) (Lost a slugfest to Chesapeake, 12-8)

DH Jace Avina0-for-4, 2 R, SB (4), BB, 2 K
RF Garrett Martin: 2-for-5, 2 RBI, K
LF Jackson Castillo: 2-for-3, 2 R, HBP, BB
3B Tyler Hardman: 1-for-4, HR (12), 3 RBI, 2 R, BB, 2 K
Hardman continues to mash. He is 27 years old and started his Double-A journey in 2022 (four games). An injury in 2023, when he hit 26 home runs in 77 games, derailed him. He has bounced back somewhat, compiling 32 home runs and 103 RBI in 155 games over the last two seasons (his overall line wasn’t great in 2025, though).  One can see him making it to MLB, even if only for a brief time.
1B Coby Morales: 2-for-4, 2B (9), 3 RBI, BB, K
CF DJ Gladney0-for-5, 4 K
2B Connor McGinnis0-for-4, R, HBP, 2 K
C Miguel Palma: 2-for-3, R, K
  C Manuel Palencia: 1-for-2
I am not sure why Palma exited the game.
SS Owen Cobb2-for-5

RHP Ben Hess1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, HR
Hess tossed 31 pitches. I wouldn’t worry about the results until they start stretching him out again.
RHP Cade Smith1 IP, 1 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K
5.87 ERA (30.2 IP, 32 H, 21 R, 20 ER, 8 HR, 15 BB, 34 K)
RHP Chris Veach: (L, 0-1)  1.1 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, HR
Veach’s Double-A debut doesn’t go according to plan.
RHP Matt Keating0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, HR
RHP Chris Kean1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, HR
RHP Hayden Merda: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K
2.50 ERA (18 IP, 15 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 HR, 7 BB, 28 K). Merda is a big kid (6’6″, 245) who was moved to the bullpen in 2025.
RHP Duncan Pastore0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
The Patriots ran out of pitchers, so they turned it over to a bench player.

Hudson Valley (19-21) (Lost to Brooklyn, 5-0)

SS Kaeden Kent0-for-4, K
Kent falls below .300 for the first time since April 21st.

CF Camden Troyer1-for-3, 2B (7)
LF Cole Gabrielson1-for-3, SB (9), 2 K
Gabrielson is on a 6-game hitting streak (7-for-15). He has a 15/10 BB/K over 25 games.

RHP Luis Serna (L, 2-1): 5.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, HR
2.79 ERA (38.2 IP, 26 H, 13 R, 12 ER, 1 HR, 13 BB, 46 K). He has allowed nine home runs in 216 career innings.

RHP Aaron Nixon1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K

Tampa (19-22) (Swept in a doubleheader by Clearwater)

Game 1 (Lost, 6-5)

3B Jackson Lovich3-for-4, 3 HR (10), 4 RBI, 3 R
The first Yankees’ farmhand with a 3-HR game since Spencer Jones on July 24, 2025.  One of his blasts went 431 feet.  He is tied for the league lead in home runs (with Zach MacDonald).
1B Hans Montero1-for-4, K
SS Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek1-for-4, 2B (4), R, 2 SB (14), K
Martin-Grudzielanek is 20-for-23 stealing bases in his short career (59 games).
C Luis Puello1-for-4, K
Puello’s first single since his promotion. He has a double, two triples, and a home run.
LF JoJo Jackson0-for-3, 2 K
Jackson’s first game since May 10th.
DH Engelth Urena0-for-2, BB, K
RF Willy Montero2-for-3
CF Luis Durango1-for-3
SS Santiago Gomez1-for-3, R, K

RHP Chase Hampton (L, 0-1): 3 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 2 HR
In the modern game, you want to see *some* velocity, but high velocity is not a major part of Hampton’s game. When healthy, he sits in the 92-94 range with a max of 97. As for today, he averaged 91.8 and maxed at 93.2. The recovery is a long process.
RHP Greysen Carter2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
It is rare not to see Carter hit 100 MPH. He maxed at “only” 99.4 today.
RHP Matthew Tippie: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

Game 2 (Lost, 4-2)

3B Jackson Lovich: 2-for-4, 2 SB (10), K
Lovich shows off the power in Game 1 and the speed in Game 2.  He entered today hitting .294/.382/.571 and ended it at .315/.396/.646 in 144 PA (8 doubles, 2 triples, 10 HR, 29 RBI, 27 R, 10-for-12 SB, 10.4% BB, 29.9% K). As I have said a few times, he is a legitimate offensive prospect whose value goes up if he can handle third base. Despite several starts there, I haven’t read any report that suggests he can stick at shortstop.
SS Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek: 1-for-3, SF, RBI, K
.250/.367/.331 in 150 PA (4 doubles, 2 HR, 14 RBI, 20 R, 14-for-16 SB, 14% BB, 22.7% K). He has a 5-game hitting streak.
2B Hans Montero0-for-4, K
DH Engelth Urena0-for-2, BB
.184/.352/.281 in 145 PA (6 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 22 R, 4-for-7 SB, 18.6% BB, 22.1% K)
CF Willy Montero0-for-3, K
C Ediel Rivera1-for-3, 2 K
RF Luis Durango1-for-3, R, SB (12)
.353/.384/.412 in 74 PA. He is 12-for-16 stealing bases in 18 games.
LF Gabriel Lara0-for-2, R, BB, K
1B John Cristino2-for-3, RBI, K

LHP Justin West: (L, 1-3)  6 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, HR
6.81 ERA (35.2 IP, 44 H, 29 R, 27 ER, 5 HR, 15 BB, 47 K)
LHP Pedro Rodriguez1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
0.71 ERA (12.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 HR, 5 BB, 19 K).  I have talked about Allen Facundo‘s velocity readings. Rodriguez can dial it up, as well. He hit 97.1 MPH with his sinker and 95.3 with his 4-seam fastball tonight.

FCL Yankees (7-6)
