2B Max Schuemann: 1-for-4, 2 BB, K
CF Spencer Jones0-for-5, RBI, R, BB, K
Good job making contact to tie the game with an RBI groundout in the 9th.
LF Jasson Dominguez: 1-for-5, 2 RBI, BB
Dominguez walks it off in the bottom of the 11th.
RF Yanquiel Fernández: 2-for-4, BB, K
Fernandez has been slumping since hitting five home runs in his first seven games.
1B Oswaldo Cabrera0-for-4, RBI, BB, 2 K
SS Paul DeJong0-for-4, BB, K
DH Ernesto Martinez Jr.0-for-4, BB, K
C Ali Sanchez1-for-4, R, BB, 2 K
3B Jonathan Ornelas: 3-for-5, HR (2), 2 RBI, 4 R, K
Ornelas is hitting .378 with a 1.088 OPS in 41 plate appearances. That said, he entered today in a 1-for-12 slump.

RHP Carlos Lagrange: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K
Lagrange was HUMMING tonight. He topped out at 102.6 MPH and averaged 100.1 MPH with his 4-seam fastball.  He generated 16 whiffs (including six with his fastball and six with his slider/sweeper). Season: 3.66 ERA (19.2 IP, 16 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 3 HR, 11 BB, 26 K)
RHP Carson Coleman1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K
3.86 ERA (9.1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 HR, 8 BB, 10 K)
RHP Bradley Hanner1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
RHP Zach Messinger: (W, 2-0) 3 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Messinger’s early-season struggles continue.  That said, after blowing the save in the top of the 9th (the Railriders bailed him out in the bottom half), he put up zeroes in the 10th and 11th.

Somerset (7-10) (Lost to Richmond, 5-2)

SS George Lombard Jr.1-for-2, 2B (7), R, SB (4), 2 BB
Lombard has 11 extra-base hits in 16 games. He owns a solid 13.7% BB rate to go with his 19.2% K. Last year at this level, he compiled a 13.6% BB, but his strikeout rate was 26.4%.
CF Jace Avina0-for-3, R, BB, 2 K
2B Marco Luciano0-for-4, K
1B Coby Morales2-for-4, 2B (6), RBI, K
.322/.388/.576 in 67 PA. He struggled badly after his promotion last season, but seems to be adjusting.
3B Tyler Hardman0-for-4, 2 K
LF Jackson Castillo1-for-4, RBI, K
Castillo’s 2026 debut. The Yankees signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2023.  He can play center field and has plenty of speed (22-for-23 stealing bases in 2025) and had some success in Hudson Valley. However, his first taste of Double-A didn’t go well last year (.210/.301/.321 in 23 games).
DH DJ Gladney1-for-4, SB (2)
Gladney went 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Opening Day. He has reached base safely in all 13 games since.
RF Kenedy Corona: 1-for-3, BB, K
C Abrahan Gutierrez0-for-4, K
Gutierrez’s 2026 debut. The Yankees selected him in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft out of the Athletics organization. The 26-year-old hasn’t shown much offense in the minors, but the Yankees needed catchers this winter. I assume they like something about him defensively.

RHP Cade Smith (L, 0-1): 4.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, HR
Smith’s early-season struggles continue. He owns a 7.11 ERA in 12.2 IP (three starts) with four home runs allowed and a 17/7 K/BB.
RHP Bailey Dees: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K
RHP Eric Reyzelman1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
1.17 ERA (7.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 13 K).
RHP Matt Keating1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K

Hudson Valley (10-7) (Mauled Brooklyn, 10-2)

DH Kaeden Kent: 3-for-5, 2B (5), 5 RBI, R, K
.323/.405/.446 in 74 PA (5 doubles, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 13 R, 4-for-4 SB, 9 BB, 13 K). This is his third career 3+ hit effort, and he set a personal best for RBI in a game.  He is on a 5-game hitting streak and is 14-for-34 (.412) over his last eight games.
SS Core Jackson1-for-4, 2B (2), RBI, R, BB, K
1B Kyle West2-for-5, R, SB (4)
Back-to-back multi-hit efforts raise his triple slash from .148/.207/.241 to .203/.250/.328.
3B Roderick Arias0-for-4, RBI, BB, 3 K
Arias is down to .211/.297/.281 in 64 PA.  He has struck out at a 34.4% rate.  After a solid start, he is in a 1-for-18 slide.
RF Wilson Rodriguez2-for-4, 2B (3), RBI, R, SB (2), BB, 2 K
He is starting to add a few hits to his walks.
LF Tyler Wilson1-for-4, RBI, R, SB (3), BB
CF Camden Troyer: 1-for-3, 2B (4), RBI, R, SB (2), 2 BB
C Josue Gonzalez1-for-5, R, 2 K
2B Connor McGinnis1-for-4, 2B (2), R, BB

RHP Gerrit Cole4.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, HR
Congrats to Corey Collins on his home run against Cole!  Cole threw 52 pitches, 42 of which were strikes.
RHP Ben Grable0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
1.17 ERA (7.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 17 K).  Recording 17 of 23 outs via strikeout is one way to earn some attention.
RHP Jack Cebert: (W, 2-1) 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
Once they took the washed-up dude out of the game, the pitching was on point.  Season: 0.98 ERA (18.1 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 17 K).

Tampa (6-12) (Outlasted Lakeland, 11-8. All ten batters reached base tonight.)

DH Jackson Lovich1-for-5, R, BB, 3 K
LF Brando Mayea1-for-3, 2B (3), HBP, K
Mayea left the game after the HBP.
   PR-LF Logan Maxwell0-for-1, RBI, R, BB
3B Enmanuel Tejeda2-for-5, 2 RBI, R, 2 SB (7), 2 K
Tejeda has an 8-game hitting streak.  It has raised his average from .037 to .220. We are seeing why some have a positive outlook for Tejeda, even if he doesn’t have much power upside.
C Engelth Urena1-for-5, R, BB, K
RF JoJo Jackson: 2-for-5, HR (2), 3 RBI, R, BB
So far, so good for Jackson, who missed most of 2025 due to injury.
SS Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek3-for-5, 2B (2), HR (1), 2 RBI, 2 R, BB
His first multi-hit game this season. It’s been a struggle thus far, so hopefully this gets him on track.
CF Willy Montero2-for-6, R, SB (3), 3 K
2B Hans Montero2-for-3, 3B (1), 2 R, 2 BB, K
He has followed up last year’s .269/.357/.431 line with a .265/.390/.347 start to 2026.
1B Austin Green2-for-4, SF, 2 RBI, R

RHP Ty Boudreau: 0.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 0 K
Sometimes, a pitcher needs his offense to bail him out.
RHP Jose Martinez2.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
RHP Matthew Tippie: (W, 1-1)  2.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, HR
3.72 ERA (9.2 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 2 HR, 5 BB, 15 K). Tippie doesn’t throw hard but generates whiffs with his breaking stuff.
LHP Parker Seay2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
RHP Josh Tiedemann: (S, 1)  1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
Tiedemann’s first professional save.
