RHP Carlos Lagrange is ready to face live hitters and may be activated off the injured list for Scranton next week. It would appear to be a longshot for Lagrange to impact the MLB roster, but I wouldn’t rule anything out if all goes well.
Scranton (72-62; 35-25 in the second half) (Lost to Lehigh Valley, 8-6)
CF Jarred Kelenic: 1-for-5, R, SB (9), K
Since signing: 8-for-33 (.242; 1 double, 1 HR, 3 RBI). He has only one walk while striking out ten times.
2B Anthony Volpe: 1-for-3, RBI, R, SB (10), CS (4), 2 BB
Volpe, who has an 8-game hitting streak, is hitting well and stealing bases. That said, I am not delusional. He has 2,080 MLB plate appearances with an 83 OPS+ result (and it’s a consistent OPS+ – it isn’t like he started slow and is ascending). While you can find players who have played well after a large sample size of mediocre play (at best), it isn’t common.
C J.C. Escarra: 1-for-4, BB, K
Escarra has a 7-game hitting streak (12-for-29).
DH Marco Luciano: 1-for-3, HBP, BB
Luciano is on a 6-game hitting streak (10-for-24).
SS Oswaldo Cabrera: 1-for-3, RBI, R, SB (10), 2 BB, K
Cabrera has a 6-game hitting streak (10-for-29).

I won’t say this was a great night for Rivas, but it was much-needed as he has struggled badly since his promotion.

Hanner has been mostly good in the minors this year, but he blew a big save tonight.

Moylan swats a big grand slam to break the tie for the organizational home run lead (27).

Lovich adds 40 stolen bases to his 24 home runs. He joins Duke Ellis, Luis Durango, Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek, and Hans Montero in the 40-SB club.

Kilby has walked 38 times in 31 games at this level. It is probable he would have made it to Hudson Valley this season if not for his injury. Stuff happens. Hopefully, he stays healthy and starts 2027 there.

De Pena has put together a 20/20/20 campaign (21 doubles, 20 HR, 25 SB). That’s remarkable, given he spent most of the season in the FCL. I can’t stress enough how impressive hitting 16 home runs at that level is, even if he has struggled here.
