For the third time this season, SS Core Jackson was placed on the injured list. While nobody wants to see that, the previous stints didn’t last too long, so Jackson does have 374 plate appearances.

Utility infielder Owen Cobb has been released from his contract. In 81 games between Somerset and Scranton this season, he hit .245/.294/.349 with 33 RBI and 14 stolen bases. The Yankees signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in 2024.

DSL Yankees (33-20) (Won a massive game over the DSL Tigers 2, 12-5. Every starter compiled at least one hit. With this win, the Yankees clinched a tournament berth.With many teams bunched up, they went on a 4-game winning streak to separate themselves from the crowd. The regular season ends tomorrow.)

Only in the DSL would a 1.037 OPS rank 12th in the league.  Power, stolen bases, and strikeouts define his campaign.

Since being acquired for Camilo Doval: 8-for-36 (.222) with a pair of triples and eight RBI.
SS Stiven Marinez1-for-4, SF, RBI, R, HBP
Marinez is 15-for-45 (.333) with 14 runs in August. The left-handed bat turns 19 on August 20th. 
3B Juan Torres1-for-4, 2B (25), RBI, R, CS (6), 2 BB, K
Torres is 22-for-45 (.489) with 19 RBI in August. He leads the league in doubles and RBI.

Martinez has a 5-game hitting streak and is 14-for-42 (.333) with nine RBI and five stolen bases in August.

DSL Bombers (24-29-1) (Defeated the DSL Rangers Blue, 4-3. The Yankees didn’t need the help, but the Rangers were one of the bunched up teams coming down the stretch)

By the way, bonus baby shortstop Mani Cedeno has been listed as active the whole season but hasn’t played since July 11th.  This will go down as a lost season for Cedeno, who didn’t perform well (.228/.365/.396 in 126 PA) and dropped off most Yankees’ prospect lists (including mine).
