Notes:

Nothing much to report.  I am working on finishing my Day 2 draft analysis.

Scranton (48-43)

Day off.

Somerset (44-43)

Day off.

Hudson Valley (41-44)

Day off.

Tampa (50-37)

Day off.

FCL Yankees (27-25) (Defeated the FCL Phillies, 3-2. This was a 7-inning game)

3B Richard Matic0-for-4, 3 K
Matic’s struggles continue. In 52 games (238 PA), he is hitting .291/.408/.452. That isn’t so bad, but he is hitting .162/.279/.270 in July.
DH George Lombard Jr.1-for-2, HR (1), RBI, R, CS (1), BB
The road back begins!  Lombard’s first FCL home run (he played four games here in 2023),
RF Wilberson De Pena0-for-3, 2 K
C Queni Pineda1-for-2, R, BB
2B Leni Done1-for-3, 2B (3), RBI, 2 K
.286/.394/.465 in 221 PA.  Like with Matic, July has been a struggle (.188/.316/.375) though he does have a double, triple, and home run to go along with a 6-for-7 SB rate.
CF Jose Castro1-for-3, HR (7), RBI, R, K
Castro sets a new personal best for home runs in a season.
LF Francisco Vilorio0-for-3, 2 K
Vilorio is hitting .202/.277/.298 in 94 PA. Additionally, he has a 38.3% K rate. I hope he invested some of that bonus money.
SS Dexters Peralta0-for-3, 2 K
1B Justin Capellan1-for-3

RHP Anthony Mena4 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, HR
RHP Sunayro Martina (W, 2-2): 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

DSL Yankees (19-10) (Squeaked past DSL Miami, 2-1. This game was scheduled to go seven innings, but they required the eighth to settle it. This offensive powerhouse decided to let the pitching take over today.)

CF Isaias Castillo2-for-4, R, SB (11), CS (2)
Castillo leads the league with 44 runs.
SS Stiven Marinez1-for-3, BB
His power has dipped in July, but he is still hitting (10-for-33).
RF Yostin Pena0-for-1, 3 BB
2B Juan Torres2-for-4, 2B (16), RBI, K
Torres is closing in on .400 (.398/.463/.695). He has six straight multi-hit efforts. The DSL is crazy, but 16 doubles in 28 games is especially crazy.
3B Adrian Feliz: 1-for-2, SB (6), BB
LF Kendry Diaz1-for-3, 2B (5), R

RHP Hector Moreno3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, HR
LHP Fredy Penuelas (W, 3-0): 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K
The 19-year-old owns a 0.88 ERA over 30.2 IP (21 H, 7 R, 3 ER, 1 HR, 11 BB, 38 K)

DSL Bombers (13-18) (Lost to the DSL Phillies, 16-10)

2B Dariel Santana: 0-for-4, RBI, R, HBP, BB
The 18-year-old switch hitter is taking a lot of walks in his debut campaign (23.4%). The bat will need to catch up.
SS Carlos Bello1-for-5, RBI, HBP
DH Kenneth Melendez1-for-3, 2B (1), 3 R, 2 BB
1B Poly Ojeda2-for-4, 2B (3), SF, RBI, R, K
Ojeda is 20-for-57 (.351/.500/.509) during his debut campaign.
3B Germayhoni Beltre1-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 R, SB (10), 2 BB
LF Sebastian Pinto0-for-3, SF, RBI, R, BB, K
CF Alfiery Matos1-for-3, 2B (1), SB (19), 2 BB, K
Matos didn’t have an extra-base hit last season (26 games). He has five this season in 27 games. He’s 18 years old.
