Injury Log

Notes:

I have no rants tonight.

Scranton (32-31) (Defeated Lehigh Valley, 5-2)

SS George Lombard Jr.: 1-for-4, SF, RBI, K
RF Jasson Dominguez: 3-for-3, HR (4), 2 RBI, R, SB (9), BB
Dominguez’s second career game in right field.  He saw Spencer Jones go yard and decided he better keep pace. Unfortunately, Savant didn’t record the distance or exit velocity.
  1B Seth Brown0-for-0
2B Marco Luciano0-for-2, BB, K
   CF Duke Ellis0-for-1
LF Oswaldo Cabrera2-for-4, 2 K

3B-2B Jonathan Ornelas: 4-for-4, 4 2B (10), RBI, R
I am sure I have typed “4 2B” at least once in the 25+ years I have done this, but I can’t tell you the last time I did.  He continues his strong offensive campaign, hitting .331 with a .917 OPS.
CF-RF Kenedy Corona1-for-2, 2B (4), RBI, R, SB (5), K
C Abrahan Gutierrez0-for-2, R, BB
   PH Ernesto Martinez Jr.0-for-1

RHP Elmer Rodriguez: (W, 2-3)  6.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
2.74 ERA (46 IP, 35 H, 18 R, 14 ER, 3 HR, 21 BB, 49 K)
RHP Carlos Lagrange: 2.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
They brought in Lagrange in the middle of an inning with a runner on base. He allowed the inherited runner to score along with one of his own. He settled down after that. It’s a process.  His fastball reached 102.1 MPH (twice).

Somerset (31-27) (Defeated Binghamton, 10-2)

LF Jackson Castillo: 2-for-5, 2 HR (3), 4 RBI, 2 R, 3 K
Castillo began the night with three straight strikeouts. That’s why baseball players need short memories. This is his second career 2-HR game (2 HR, 7 RBI on August 13, 2024).  This year, he is hitting .277/.382/.406 in 177 PA. Not bad at all.

Hudson Valley (26-31) (Defeated Jersey Shore, 5-0)

2B Kaeden Kent0-for-5
SS Core Jackson1-for-4, 2B (10), SB (15)
Jackson is 6-for-20 with three doubles, a triple, and three stolen bases in June. His offense continues to open eyes.

DH Eric Genther1-for-3, BB
LF Wilson Rodriguez1-for-4, HR (3), RBI, 2 R, K
.228/.354/.342 in 230 PA. After a poor April and solid May, he has started slowly in June (7-for-30 with only one walk). Hopefully, tonight gets him started.

It’s been a struggle for Arias, but he has two doubles and two home runs in his last four games.

3.24 ERA (25 IP, 16 H, 11 R, 9 ER, 1 HR, 19 BB, 31 K). His improved control (13 of those walks came in his first six innings) intrigues me. He already had one of the best arms in the system (threw a 101.2 MPH pitch tonight)
