Top 30 Prospects

Injury Log

Notes:

I have nothing for you.

Scranton (27-27) (Defeated Worcester, 7-2)

One of their outfield depth pieces, Yanquiel Fernandez, is on the 7-day injured list.

SS George Lombard Jr.0-for-3, R, SB (6), 2 BB
The walk rate (19.7%) at this level remains solid despite inconsistent overall results.
CF Spencer Jones: 3-for-5, 2 RBI, R, 2 SB (9)
.266/.372/.597 in 164 PA (7 doubles, 13 HR, 46 RBI, 30 R, 9-for-11 SB, 12.8% BB, 32.9% K). Again, I understand if it is hard to “get into” what he does in the minors after seeing him struggle in MLB. That’s human nature.
LF Oswaldo Cabrera3-for-5, RBI, R, K
The season as a whole has been a struggle for Cabrera, so nice to see him have a good night.  There’s nowhere for him to move without an MLB injury (Yankees seem content with Max Schuemann as the last man off the bench).
3B Tyler Hardman: 2-for-5, 2 2B (4), RBI, R, K
Hardman has back-to-back multi-hit efforts (three doubles). Power is what will pay his bills.
DH Payton Henry2-for-3, RBI, BB, K
1B Ernesto Martinez Jr.0-for-3, SF, RBI, K
C Ali Sanchez0-for-3, BB, K
2B Jonathan Ornelas1-for-4, R, SB (3), K

RHP Rafael Montero1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
RHP Eric Reyzelman1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K
Reyzelman maxed out at 97.1 MPH. Since promotion: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 HR, 3 BB, 4 K
RHP Yerry de los Santos: 0.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
RHP Zach Messinger0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
3.06 ERA (32.1 IP, 18 H, 13 R, 11 ER, 2 HR, 15 BB, 25 K)

Somerset (26-24) (Defeated New Hampshire, 4-3. New Hampshire falls to 25-22.  Hartford lost to fall to 26-22 while Portland lost to fall to 25-24. It’s a crazy race for the first half title.)

RF Jace Avina2-for-4, 2B (13), 3B (1), R, K
Avina has a 28-game on-base streak.  He is hitting .270/.355/.562 in 211 PA (46 games). In 46 games here last year, he hit .224/.314/.341.
CF Garrett Martin0-for-4, 3 K
DH Nicholas Torres1-for-2, R, 2 BB
Torres has reached base safely in 11 of his 12 games.
1B Coby Morales0-for-3, BB, K
LF Jackson Castillo2-for-3, RBI, R, SB (2)
Castillo has a 7-game hitting streak (11-for-30). He is hitting .295/.386/.393 in 140 PA.  In his career, he is 47-for-54 (87%) stealing bases.
C Miguel Palma0-for-2, R, BB
  C Manuel Palencia0-for-1, K
2B Connor McGinnis1-for-4, RBI, K
SS Owen Cobb1-for-3, RBI, SB (5)
3B Kevin Verde0-for-3

LHP Kyle Carr6.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 K (personal best)
4.40 ERA (45 IP, 42 H, 25 R, 22 ER, 4 HR, 19 BB, 55 K). Carr doesn’t want to see May end, as he finishes the month with a 1.55 ERA in 29 innings with a 36/8 K/BB.
RHP Michael Arias: (W, 1-0) 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
RHP Kelly Austin: (S, 2)  1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K

Hudson Valley (22-27) (Lost to Bowling Green, 10-6)

SS Kaeden Kent2-for-5, SB (14), K
Kent is hitting .302/.368/.417 in 212 PA and is 14-for-15 stealing bases. After running into a bit of a slump, he has three consecutive multi-hit efforts.
LF Wilson Rodriguez1-for-4, 3B (2), 2 R, BB, 3 K
.230/.366/.342 in 195 PA. On May 1, he was hitting .162. It’s been a steady climb since.
DH Kyle West0-for-5, K
C Josue Gonzalez2-for-3, RBI, R, BB, K
.220/.363/.430 in 124 PA.
2B Roderick Arias1-for-4, RBI, R, K
3B Enmanuel Tejeda1-for-3, HR (2), 3 RBI, R, HBP, K
Tejeda has four home runs in 47 games between here and Tampa. He is one away from his personal best (five in 50 games in 2023).
CF Camden Troyer0-for-4
1B Josh Moylan1-for-4, HR (6), RBI, R, 2 K
Moylan has three home runs in his last six games.
RF Cole Gabrielson0-for-3, BB

RHP Sean Paul Linan2.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, HR
4.63 ERA (35 IP, 29 H, 21 R, 18 ER, 4 HR, 12 BB, 51 K). We don’t get advanced data from High-A games, but I would guess he is fooling hitters with his changeup, but his other offerings are getting hit around.
RHP Brady Kirtner (L, 1-2): 1.1 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, HR
RHP Bryce Warrecker1.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, HR
RHP Hansel Rincon1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
RHP Jack Sokol0.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K
1.17 ERA (15.1 IP, 13 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 HR, 6 BB, 19 K).
RHP Brandon Decker1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
2.31 ERA (23.1 IP, 16 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 1 HR, 8 BB, 26 K). Some relievers in High-A could find themselves in Somerset before the year is over. We’ve already seen a few promotions (Ben Grable, Chris Veach).

Tampa (24-26) (Swept in a doubleheader by Daytona)

Game 1 (Lost, 1-0, in nine innings)

3B Jackson Lovich2-for-3, SB (12), BB
.308/.389/.630 in 167 PA (10 doubles, 2 triples, 11 HR, 32 RBI, 32 R, 12-for-14 SB, 10.8% BB, 28.1% K). The strikeout rate has come down a bit. In April, he struck out 31.6% of the time.
SS Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek0-for-3, BB
He extends his on-base streak to 13.
2B Hans Montero1-for-4, SB (13), K
CF Willy Montero1-for-4, 2 K
LF JoJo Jackson0-for-4, 2 K
Jackson was ejected from the game.
   LF Gabriel Lara0-for-0
DH Engelth Urena0-for-4, 2 K
C Ediel Rivera0-for-3
RF Luis Durango0-for-3, K
1B John Cristino0-for-3, 3 K

LHP Henry Lalane5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K
4.15 ERA (30.1 IP, 27 H, 15 R, 14 ER, 0 HR, 14 BB, 35 K). Last two outings: 10.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 15 K.
RHP Greysen Carter1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
3.80 ERA (21.1 IP, 15 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 1 HR, 18 BB, 28 K). He has a 19/5 K/BB over his last 15.1 innings. If this isn’t a fluke, you should start to pay close attention. His arm is electric. That has never been in question.
RHP Matthew Tippie (L, 2-4): 2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Game 2 (Lost, 4-2)

SS Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek1-for-4, K
He has a 14-game on-base streak.
3B Hans Montero1-for-4, 2 K
DH Luis Puello: 2-for-4, 2B (3)
Tampa’s lone extra-base hit in 16 innings today. It’s hard to win that way!  Puello has three doubles, two triples, and two home runs in 13 games since his promotion.
RF Willy Montero1-for-3, BB, K
Montero has an 8-game hitting streak (12-for-31).
LF JoJo Jackson1-for-3, R
C Engelth Urena0-for-3, K
1B Austin Green0-for-2, BB
CF Luis Durango1-for-3, R, K
2B Luis Escudero0-for-3, 2 K

RHP Ty Boudreau: (L, 1-2)  4.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 K
3.32 ERA (38 IP, 29 H, 18 R, 14 ER, 2 HR, 15 BB, 49 K)
LHP Jose Ledesma1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
RHP Jordarlin Mendoza0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K

FCL Yankees (11-10) (Defeated the Phillies, 12-4)

I was wrong – Dax Kilby did not play today. Since the FCL takes Sunday off, Kilby will not play three days in a row. Given he was coming off a hamstring injury, this could have been the plan. Let’s hope so.

3B Richard Matic0-for-3, 2 R, 2 HBP, K
Matic has reached base safely in all 21 of his games this season.
RF Wilberson De Pena2-for-3, 2B (7), 3 RBI, R, BB
.395/.451/.765 in 91 PA (7 doubles, 1 triple, 7 HR, 32 RBI, 16 R, 11-for-15 SB, 7.7% BB, 17.6% K). 32 RBI in 20 games is ridiculous. The 19-year-old has been unstoppable since Opening Day. It’s hard to take rookie league statistics too seriously (remember when Yankees’ fans acted as if they traded away Juan Soto II when they traded John Cruz a few years ago?). Still, performance is what gets you out of here.
2B Leni Done1-for-4, 2B (2), RBI, R, BB, K
DH David McCann1-for-4, HR (2), 2 RBI, 2 R, K
The 22-year-old is 6-for-21 on his rehab assignment. Listed as a catcher, the only position he has played thus far is designated hitter.
SS Dexters Peralta0-for-4, R, BB, K
LF Estivenzon Montero1-for-5, R, 2 K
Montero has a 6-game hitting streak.
C Justin Capellan2-for-4, 2B (4), HR (3), 3 RBI, 2 R, K
The 19-year-old is showing some pop (4 doubles, 1 triple, 3 HR in 17 games). However, he has walked only once (1.6% BB). Last year, he walked just under 14% of the time.
1B Christofer Reyes1-for-4, RBI, CS (1), 2 K
Reyes is 6-for-7 stealing bases in five games.
CF Isael Arias2-for-3, 2B (1), 2 R, SB (6), BB, K

RHP Sabier Marte4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K
Marte, who has some prospect shine, sets a personal best for strikeouts in a game. This is his best performance in 2026. Remember that the 6’5″ hurler missed the entire 2025 season.
RHP Rafael Arias1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K
RHP Kevin Stevens (W, 1-0): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
Stevens is here on a rehab assignment.  The 28-year-old, whom the Yankees signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, has had trouble staying healthy. His career high in appearances is 31, set in 2024 with the Somerset Patriots.
RHP Luis Velasquez1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
His third rehab appearance.
RHP Jorge Luna0.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K
RHP Alexander Almonte1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 1 K
