Game 2 (Lost, 7-4)

CF Jasson Dominguez0-for-4
14 games in left field, 3 games in center field this season. Looking at the splits on Baseball Reference, Dominguez has only eight plate appearances against LHP. Interestingly, he has two plate appearances as a right-handed hitter facing a right-handed pitcher (he is 2-for-2).
DH Spencer Jones1-for-3, HR (5), RBI, R, K
The home run was hit 376 feet at 104.6 MPH. Season: .254/.363/.552 in 80 PA (5 doubles, 5 HR, 21 RBI, 14 R, 4-for-6 SB, 12.5% BB, 37.5% K). As a point of reference, he recorded a 8.7% BB and 36.6% K in 298 PA for Scranton in 2025.

C Payton Henry1-for-3, HR (2), 2 RBI, R, K
LF Duke Ellis1-for-3

RHP Dom Hamel (L, 0-3): 4.2 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, HR

Hudson Valley (6-7) (Lost to Frederick, 4-1)

SS Core Jackson: 1-for-4, SB (7), BB, 3 K
Jackson is getting on base at a decent clip (.322 OBP) and stealing some bases.  However, he is hitting only .184.
2B Roderick Arias0-for-3, HBP, K
1B Kyle West0-for-3, BB, K

RHP Sean Paul Linan: (L, 0-2)  3.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, HR
We don’t get Savant data in High-A. I would love to see his changeup usage. The minors are for learning, so it wouldn’t shock me if the Yankees are having him throw fewer changeups to work on other pitches. Season: 3.72 ERA (9.2 IP, 11 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 2 HR, 1 BB, 17 K).
RHP Jack Sokol1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
RHP Chris Veach1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
6.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K. That qualifies as a hot start!
RHP Tony Rossi: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 HR, 2 BB, 12 K. Rossi hasn’t allowed a home run in 51.1 career innings.

Tampa (5-9) (Squeaked past Bradenton, 6-5)

3B Jackson Lovich4-for-5, HR (2), 2 RBI, R, SB (2), K
The home run was a leadoff blast. This is his second career 4-hit game (August 17, 2025), and he is hitting .324/.395/.647 in 38 plate appearances.
RF Brando Mayea0-for-4, BB, 2 K
Mayea is 0-for-12 in his last three games.  It has dropped his triple slash to .179/.258/.250.
