News:
The Yankees have signed RHP Zach McAllister to a minor league contract. If that name sounds familiar, he was the Yankees’ third-round pick in the 2006 draft. Yes, he was drafted three years before the Yankees’ latest title.
Eventually traded to Cleveland for OF Austin Kearns in 2010, McAllister has enjoyed a 480-game MLB career, posting a 4.09 ERA (100 ERA+) over 591.2 innings. He hasn’t pitched in MLB since 2018 with the Tigers.
He has bounced around baseball since then. His latest stint was earlier this season, when he pitched to a 4.93 ERA in 38.1 innings for the Diamondbacks Triple-A squad in Reno.
For the Yankees, he is here for depth purposes. They just lost veteran Tanner Tully, so McAllister may just take his slot.

RHP Spencer Howard: (L, 0-1) 1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
His organizational debut isn’t a memorable one…at least not in a good way. Howard once had enough prospect credibility to be ranked as one of the top pitching prospects in the game. Baseball is a tough sport.
RHP Zac Houston: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K

2B Max Burt: 1-for-4, RS, K, SB (13)

Burt (single, SB) and Torrealba (BB) set up Dominguez’s heroics.
RHP Matt Sauer: 4.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K
A solid line for Sauer, though it did take him 85 pitches to record those 14 outs.

RHP Leonardo Pestana: 3.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K

3-for-10 with three walks at this level.
LF Jared Wegner: 2-for-4, 2B (1), 2 RBI
Wegner is already 24 years old so the FCL (where he went 4-for-9 with two doubles and two home runs)/Low-A shouldn’t present much of a challenge to him.
SS Brenny Escanio: 0-for-3, BB, K
CF Daury Arias: 1-for-4, RS
1B Beau Brewer: 2-for-4
Last 6 games: 10-for-21

DH Josh Tiedemann: 0-for-4, BB
The Yankees selected the 2-way player in the 13th round out of High School. It is so odd to see a player listed as a “TWP”
C Edinson Duran: 1-for-4, HR (2), 2 RBI, RS, BB, K.
